Set within a heritage building in Kala Ghoda, the Estaa jewellery store is conceived as a measured and introspective interior—majestic in scale, yet deliberately restrained in expression. With 14-foot-high ceilings, the space carries a quiet sense of gravity, allowing architecture, light, and material to frame the delicacy of the jewellery without spectacle.
The experience begins with a moment of contrast. Corten steel arched niches, raw and elemental, line the entry sequence—strong, almost austere forms that hold within them precious, finely crafted jewels. This tension between weight and lightness, roughness and refinement, sets the tone for the store: a place where value is revealed slowly.
At the heart of the plan is a central room anchored by a traditional handwoven carpet and a chandelier, forming the emotional and spatial core of the store. This centrepiece is not a display in the conventional sense, but a moment of pause—an invitation to dwell. The jewellery is encountered gradually, as one moves outward into a series of softer rooms.
Beyond the central space, the atmosphere shifts. Walls are washed in muted, soothing greens, softened by natural light, plants, and carefully chosen antique furniture and family rugs. These rooms feel domestic rather than commercial—spaces designed for comfort, trust, and time. Display is minimal and deliberate: floating jewellery elements appear almost weightless, allowing each piece to be encountered individually, without distraction.
The salon is conceived as a place for conversation rather than transaction. A grand central table, sumptuous chairs, a triptych mirror, and a family heirloom carpet create an environment where clients can spend hours—talking, trying, reflecting, and returning. Coffee replaces counters; dialogue replaces salesmanship.
Tucked discreetly within the store is an on-site workshop and design studio, reinforcing Estaa’s identity as a practice rooted in process and experimentation. Prototyping, making, and refinement happen alongside display, lending the space a sense of quiet invention. There is something intentionally enigmatic about this layer of the store—visible but not announced—suited to the thoughtful, investigative nature of the brand.
Throughout, the architecture channels the personality of the jewellery designer: measured, creative, subtle, and precise. Nothing is excessive. Nothing is rushed. The store holds a gentle sense of mystery—an interior that reveals itself through time, touch, and attention.
Estaa’s Kala Ghoda store is ultimately a place of calm intensity—where heritage, craft, and contemporary design converge to create an environment as considered and intelligent as the jewellery it holds.
