As Medanta’s flagship hospital, Gurgaon demonstrates LAB’s ability to design at scale without losing sensitivity. The 2 million sq.ft. hospital integrates 1,200 beds, 330 ICU beds, and 30 operating theatres, supported by multiple institutes of excellence.

The architecture organizes this complexity into systems of clarity: sterile cores and modular operating theatres enable fast turnarounds; stacked critical care units reduce transfer time; public, patient, and service flows are strictly separated yet intuitively legible. This optimization lowers operational costs and improves staff efficiency. At the same time, landscaped courtyards and gardens bring air and light deep into the plan. Patient rooms and waiting areas are oriented toward daylight and calm materials, creating psychological comfort.
