Papa’s is a secret dining destination tucked above Veronica’s in Bandra, conceived as Chef Hussain’s dream dinner party. The 12-seater chef’s table and adjoining cocktail bar transform the mezzanine of an old bakery into an atmosphere of intimacy and wonder. Inspiration came from imagining Wes Anderson staging a home in 1980s Bandra — nostalgic, playful, and richly detailed.

The space is divided across a central skylit lightwell, recalling traditional Bombay houses. On one side, a convivial cocktail bar with gallery-like proportions; on the other, a dining table aligned with the open kitchen counter, blurring boundaries between cooking and conversation.

Craft and memory are layered into the design. A floral glass chandelier by Arjun Rathi crowns the dining space, while counters and serveware repurpose wood from The Bombay Canteen. Warm wood floors, teal ceilings, terrazzo bars, and curated knick-knacks evoke childhood homes filled with eclectic collections. Papa’s is at once whimsical and refined, transforming dining into a theatrical yet deeply personal experience.
