An ode to the neighbourhood bakery—reimagined as a contemporary café and bar.

Set within the former St. Jude Bakery, Veronica’s is a project steeped in neighbourhood memory. LAB’s design response was not to erase but to reinterpret. The café and bar retain echoes of the bakery’s textures and atmosphere while reworking them into a contemporary hospitality space.

Terrazzo counters, timber detailing, and patterned glass reference mid-century cafés, while lighting and layout create warmth and intimacy. The program extends beyond coffee into cocktails and all-day dining, ensuring the space remains lively from morning through evening.

Community was central to the brief—Veronica’s is designed as a gathering place, accessible and familiar yet distinctly modern. By weaving nostalgia with reinvention, the café honours its bakery heritage while opening a new chapter of collective memory for Bandra.
